Canon expands imagePROGRAF TM Series with new printers and built-in scanning

Canon Australia has announced eight new additions to its imagePROGRAF TM Series, bringing more choice to businesses producing large-format technical drawings, plans and posters. Announced on 16 September 2026, the expanded range features 5-colour pigment ink and introduces the series’ first multifunction models with built-in large-format scanners.

The new models are the imagePROGRAF TM-500, TM-510, TM-515, TM-600, TM-610 and TM-615, alongside the 24-inch TM-510M and 36-inch TM-610M multifunction printers.

Print, scan and copy in one compact solution

The TM-510M and TM-610M combine large-format printing, scanning and copying in a single device. For organisations regularly working with oversized documents, this integrated design offers a practical way to bring these tasks together without needing a separate scanner.

A compact footprint helps suit space-conscious workplaces, while the flat-top design allows large documents to be loaded from above. The contact image sensor (CIS) scanner uses light sources on both sides of the sensor to help minimise shadows and brightness variations caused by folds, wrinkles or creases in original documents.

Simpler scanning and copying

Both multifunction models feature a Preset Function that lets users select a document type from the operation panel and automatically apply a suitable scan mode. A 5-inch colour touchscreen, with an interface based on Canon’s multifunction office devices, includes customisable menus to support different workflows.

Sharper detail for technical drawings

The new TM Series models use Canon’s newly developed matte black ink to improve black density. This is designed to enhance the reproduction of fine lines, intricate details and small text in CAD drawings, engineering plans and architectural documentation.

For teams that rely on clear, readable drawings, the improved black characteristics are intended to make detailed output easier to interpret.

Colour output for posters and signage

Beyond technical documents, the TM-510M and TM-610M also support poster applications. Canon’s image design technology is designed to maximise the ink system’s colour performance, including when printing on plain paper.

Applications include promotional posters, educational displays, retail signage and presentation graphics, making these multifunction models an option for workplaces handling both technical and promotional print tasks.

Recycled materials in the printer body

Canon reports that certain parts of the main printer body use recycled steel and recycled resin, as part of its approach to resource conservation.

Australian availability

According to Canon’s announcement, the new imagePROGRAF TM Series models were scheduled to be commercially available through Canon Australia and accredited Canon partners from 16 September 2026.
